Our little family here at The Elysian Stories is a tight-knit network of friends that just want to make our mark in the creative world. We are constantly expanding, constantly learning and growing in our respective fields. Our aim is to bring you enjoyable, meaningful content that connects all of us in our Northshore community.

Kathryn Jones
Owner/Lead Writer
Hello, my name is Kathryn Jones and this website is my baby. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to write for a living and here I am. Doing the thing. I’m a licensed social worker here on the Northshore, but my first love will always be storytelling. Through my journey in the mental health field, I have met a great deal of fascinating, lovely, inspirational people, made strong and resilient by their struggle. This project, The Elysian Stories, was created in that spirit. I want to share the stories of the people in this community. I have been a fiction writer and poet all of my life (literally since before I could read and spell) but for the last two years I have dipped my metaphoric quill into the world of journalism. After writing for a local print publication I was inspired to start my own journey, one that focuses on the lives of the everyday citizen of the Northshore, our eclectic little cluster of cities atop Lake Pontchartrain. When I am not writing or social working, I am a stay at home mom to my daughter, Lily, and an avid home cook and visual artist.

Alaina Walder
Photographer
Growing up Alaina was fascinated by family photos. She learned from a young age that our memories and precious moments are made immortal through the camera lens. At age 10 she began taking photos with her very first camera, a passion and skill that grew with the ages. In addition to her photography endeavors, Alaina also uses her culinary degree to operate her popular pastry business on the Northshore, affectionately known as The Little Oven. But before she is a photographer and a baker, she is a wife and mother. She spends her days caring for her two daughters, Nora and Eden.

Heidi Autin
Photographer
A local mom and kinesiology student, Heidi Autin spends her free time accompanying her kids, Kaiden and Laina, to dance class and managing her photography business, Mamma’s Photography. Heidi rediscovered her love for photography in 2018 when she began taking sports photos of her kids and their fellow athletes. Word quickly spread as she received requests for family, maternity, and wedding photos. Thus her small business was born. Her passion lies in capturing the spark of pure joy when humans are in their true element. She strives to give clients memories that they can treasure for a lifetime.
